RUSSIA — Russia topped Fairlawn in County volleyball action Saturday at Russia, 3-0.

The scores were 25-19, 25-22, 25-19.

Russia goes to 6-5 in the county and 11-10 overall going into the regular-season finale Tuesday at Fort Loramie.

Fairlawn is 5-6 in the league now and also 11-10 overall and hosts Anna Tuesday in its regular season finale.

For Russia, Laurissa Poling had nine kills, eight blocks, seven digs and two aces to lead the way. Chris Gaerke and Morgan Wenrick both had eight kills and Claudia Counts added six.

Whitney Pleiman and Chloe Sherman led the defense with 21 digs apiece, and Jenna Cordonner had 27 assists and 12 digs.

Sherman added two aces and Counts three blocks.

For Fairlawn, Audrey Francis had 33 digs and 19 kills, Lauren Dudgeon added seven kills and Chelsie Brautigam had 29 assists and nine digs.

Russia won the junior varsity game 2-0.

Fenwick 3, Loramie 1

FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie lost at home Saturday in non-league play to Middletown Fenwick, 3-1.

The scores were 25-16, 19-25, 27-25, 25-21, and the loss left the Lady Redskins at 13-8 on the year heading into the regular-season finale Tuesday at home against Russia.

Fenwick was ranked 11th in the state in Division 2 in last week’s rankings. Fort Loramie was ranked 10th in Division 4.
