LIMA — The Minster girls finished fifth out of 18 teams with 223 points in the annual Lima Holiday Invitational held Tuesday at the Lima YMCA.

“I thought we had a great meet,” said coach Kelly Schulze. “Most of the swimmers bettered their season’s best times and some even got personal bests. The boys team, which is very young, is really improving.”

Madeline Magoto took second place in the 100-butterfly in 1:08.66 and teammate Hanna Boate was ninth in 1:15.79. Magoto was also seventh in the 100-breaststroke in 1:15.66.

The 400-free relay team of Kaitlynn Albers, Emma Watcke, Pilar Slonkosky and Claire Borgerding was third in 4:13.28.

In the 500-free, Albers placed sixth in 6:11.96 and teammate Morgan Pohl was eighth in 6:18.44, and in the 100-free, Borgerding was seventh in 1:01.61 and Watcke eighth in 1:01.7.

Slonkosky was eighth in the 200-IM in 2:43.31.

For New Bremen, which was seventh with 133 points, Taylor Paul was eighth in the 50-free in 27.67, and teammate Rachel Kremer was ninth in 27.88.

Kremer also placed eighth in the 100-butterfly in 1:15.78, and Paul was eighth in the 100-breaststroke.

Versailles finished 12th with 61 points.

Topping the Lady Tigers was the 400-free relay team of Tori Ahrens, Faith Wilker, Emily Kramer and Heather Albers, fifth in 4:18.18.

Albers was also seventh in the 100-breaststroke in 1:16.8, and Wilker was ninth in the 200-IM in 28.2.

• The Versailles High School boys swim team placed sixth out of 19 teams.

The Tigers totaled 155.5 points.

The top finishes came from the 400-free relay team of Clint Morgan, Kyle Dapore, Nathanial Nelson and Cole Condon, who combined to place third in 3:49.06, and Condon in 1o00-butterfly, third in 58.18.

Condon also added a fourth in the 50-free in 23.57 and the same four swimmers placed fourth in the 200-free relay in 1:37.39.

Stuart Baltes was seventh in the 500-free in 6:28.75 and Morgan placed eighth in the 100-free in 55.35.

Celina won with 349 points and Lima Shawnee was second with 300.

The New Bremen boys placed 10th with 75 points.

Sam Rutschilling was eighth in the 200-free in 2:11.8, and Noah Parlett eighth in the 500-free in 6:36.82

The 200-free relay team of Rutschilling, Josh Niekamp, Parlett and Ezra Ferguson was eighth in 1:47.96, and the same four were ninth in the 200-medley relay in 2:00.84.
