Fort Loramie and Anna both came up short in their quest for their initial victories of the football season Friday night.

Anna was playing its first Midwest Athletic Conference game, and fell behind 14-0 in a loss to unbeaten Fort Recovery 21-12 Friday night at Fort Recovery.

“The kids fought hard,” said Anna coach Nick Marino. “We just didn’t make enough plays to win it.”

Fort Recovery’s Kyle Schroer bolted 77 yards to give the Indians a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, then Will Homan scored on a 21-yard to run to make it 14-0.

Anna came back, however, on a touchdown run by Colin Wuebker to make it 14-6 at the half.

But Recovery matched Anna’s score in the final half. Wuebker scored again for the Rockets.

Anna is now 0-1 in the MAC and 0-3 overall with Parkway coming to Anna Friday for another league game.

Loramie-Bluffton

Fort Loramie was also hoping for its first win in action at home against Bluffton Friday night in non-league play, but wound up on the short end of a 23-14 score.

The loss left the Redskins at 0-3 on the season heading into their first Northwest Central Conference game of the season Friday at home against 3-0 Riverside.

Bluffton is now 3-0.
