GERMANTOWN — Versailles was second and Sidney ninth in the Valley View Wrestling Invitational on Saturday.

Perennial state champion Graham was first with 315 and Versailles had 242.5. Sidney was ninth out of 14 teams with 65 points.

Sidney was led by Kyler Pleasant at 138. He finished fourth with a 3-2 record. He won his first two matches on 10-3 and 15-2 decisions, then lost by pin in 3:50. He came back and won 4-2, then lost on a pin to Kyle Wuebker of Versailles in the match for third.

Caleb Schroer was fifth at 113 pounds. He lost by pin in his first match, then won 12-0, 13-9 and 5-3 in the match for fifth place.

At 160, Dan Blosser finished fifth. He lost his first match by pin, then pinned his next two opponents in under a minute each, 40 seconds and 53 seconds. He was then pinned in 3:44 before winning 7-2 in the match for fifth place.

Phillip Bertsch at 120, Zach Hicks at 126, Landon Johnson at 145, Seth Miller at 182 and Greg Spencer at 285 all won one match in the tournament.

• Versailles was led by two individual champions.

Tanner Bey at 145 won 13-3, pinned in 1:38 and :26, then pinned in 2:15 in the championship match to dominate his weight class.

And at 170, Jonathan Moorman won a 21-6 technical fall, then won 8-6 in the championship match.

Versailles also had two runner-up finishers in Jerome Bey at 182 and Jeffrey Ware at 285.

Bey pinned in 1:47 and 3:05, then won 1-0 in the semifinals. He then lost by pin in 3:53 of the championship match to Gage Braun of Graham.

Ware won by pin in 3:49 and 3:28, then lost to a Valley View wrestler in the championship by a 2-1 decision.

Cael Bey at 106 was third, winning his first two matches via pin in 4:28 and 1:50 before losing 10-3. He then won 8-3 then lost on a pin in the match for third.

Jacob Poling at 120 was also third. He won on a pin in 2:28, then lost 4-0. He came back to win two straight by pin, in 1:00 and :34 in the match for third.

Kyle Wuebker at 138 also finished third for the Tigers. He won his first bout on a pin in 1:09, then lost on a tech-fall. He came back to win on two pins in 3:33 and :42 in the match for third.

Tyler Gigandet was another third-place finisher, at 160 pounds. He won his first match in 1:18, lost his second 3-0, then won in the match for third on a pin in 3:44.

And Jacob Rismiller added a fifth third-place finish for the Tigers at 195. He won a 20-7 major decision to start out, the lost 13-4. He bounced back with a 2:53 pin and a 3-1 win in the match for third.

Steven Mangen was fifth at 132. He won his first match via pin in 2:24, then his second with an 8-5 decision. He then lost on a pin before winning his next two on a pin in 1:48 and a 10-2 decision.

Isaac Grilliot at 220 was also fifth for the Tigers. He lost 6-1 in his first match, then won in 1:48 on a pin, won by default, and won 4-2 in the match for fifth.

Nick Monnier was sixth at 113. He lost his first bout on a pin, then won on a pin in 4:15 before losing on a pin and on a 5-3 decision in the match for fifth.
