NORTH LEWISBURG — After starting off the season 1-6, the young Lehman Cavaliers have now reeled off four consecutive victories, the latest coming Tuesday night after a long road trip to North Lewisburg to face the Triad Cardinals.

The Cavs got off to a strong start, then played well enough in the final two periods to come away with a 65-52 victory and run their record on the year to 5-6.

They now head into easily their most difficult weekend of the season. On Friday night, they play at Lima Perry, a team Gleason says is good enough to win it all this year. Then on Saturday, they make the short trip over to Sidney to face the Yellow Jackets.

Behind the one-two punch of Kam Lee and Dylan Arnold, the Cavaliers raced to a 24-6 lead after one quarter and maintained that lead at the half at 42-24.

“We were able to get out and run the ball a little,” said Lehman head coach Tim Gleason. “We actually still missed a lot of layups, but the kids passed the ball well and took good care of the ball.”

Lee had 10 points in the opening quarter and Arnold added seven. Then in the second quarter, Arnold added eight more.

He went on to lead the Cavs in scoring with 23 points, and Lee finished with 17 to go with 10 rebounds for a double-double. Elliott Gilardi added 12 points.

“Elliott had a real nice game,” Gleason said.

Triad cut the lead down to 10 after three quarters but the Cavs wouldn’t let the Cardinals get any closer.
