The Fairlawn boys made it three in a row Friday night with an impressive 81-52 rout of visiting Covington in non-league boys basketball action.

The win put the Jets at 10-2 overall heading into their game Saturday night at Newton.

Nathan Lessing again led the Jets with 29 points, but he had plenty of help. Drew Brautigam had 15, Keshon Johnson 14 and Luke Hickman 13.

Anna 66, Houston 48

HOUSTON — Anna snapped its four-game losing streak with a 66-48 victory over Houston in County action Friday night.

The win put Anna at 4-4 in the league and 7-7 overall heading into Saturday night action at home against St. Henry.

Houston fell to 1-7 in the league and 1-12 overall, and was at Franklin-Monroe Saturday.

The Rockets had three in double figures, led by Nathan Frilling with 15. Griffin Doseck had 14 and Wyatt Bensman 11.

Cameron Arnold had 16 and Howie Ludwig 12 for the Wildcats.

Minster 48, New Bremen 37

MINSTER — The Minster Wildcats jumped to a 12-5 lead after a quarter and went on to beat New Bremen in Midwest Athletic Conference action Saturday night, 48-37 in action at Minster.

The win put Minster at 6-5 overall heading into a game at home Saturday against Russia. The Wildcats are now 2-2 in league play.

New Bremen fell to 0-11 with the loss and hosted Wapak Saturday. The Cards are 0-4 in the MAC.

Aaron Ernst led the Wildcats with 12 and Jared Huelsman had 11. Isaac Schmiesing added nine.

Tate Myers had 12 for the Cardinals.

St. Henry 61, Knoxville 51

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Rangers scored 24 points in the final period but it wasn’t enough to offset just three in the opening quarter, and they fell short of St. Henry in MAC play Friday, 61-51.

The Rangers took a 4-8 mark into a game at Botkins Saturday, and are now 1-3 in the league.

St. Henry sped to a 15-3 lead after a quarter and the Rangers trailed by 16 after three.

Nick Topp had 19 for Knoxville and Jonah Lageman added 11.
