COLUMBUS — Sidney High senior bowler Heather Gold turned in an outstanding performance Friday in the Division 1 Girls State Bowling Tournament.

She rolled games of 179, 234 and 185 for a 598 series, and that put her 10th out of nearly 200 bowlers in the final individual standings. It also earned her second team All-Ohio honors.

“Heather bowled very well today,” said Sidney coach Trent Knoop. “She had a few bad breaks in there but she kept her mental game strong and kept fighting. She battled through the adversity when it hit.

“We are all proud of Heather,” he added. “She had a great finish to her last year of high school bowling.”
