Sidney High sophomore Andre Gordon was named to the Division 1 All-Ohio Honorable Mention list for the 2016-17 boys basketball season, it was announced by The Associated Press.

Gordon finished fourth in the Greater Western Ohio Conference in scoring at 19.7 per game, and was second in the league in assists with 5.7 per game.

Ahrens named

Meanwhile, in Division 3, Versailles standout Justin Ahrens, an Ohio State commit, was named the co-player of the year in D-3 after leading the Tigers to a 21-1 regular-season record.

The 6-foot-6 junior averaged 23.4 points per game for the Tigers this season.

Ahrens’ coach, Travis Swank, was one of three to be named coach of the year.
