Regional baseball postponed

The weather forced postponement of Division 4 Regional baseball games on Thursday, pushing them back to today (Friday).

The regional semifinal game between Russia and Fort Loramie, scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. in Springfield, was postponed and will be played today at 2 p.m.

Newark Catholic and Tri-County North will play at 5 p.m. today, and the winners will now play on Saturday morning at 11 to decide the regional champion.

Likewise, the Minster Wildcats were scheduled to play Thursday at 2 at Hamler Patrick Henry in the regional semifinals against New London, but that game was also rained out.

The times remain the same for today, when the teams will try again. Minster and New London will meet at 2, followed by Leipsic and Edon at 5.

The winners return Saturday at a time to be announced to play for the regional championship.

Versailles offering student passes

VERSAILLES — The Versailles High School athletic department will be offering an all-season sports pass to students for $25 during the 2017-18 school year.

By decreasing prices for students, the school hopes students and families will be able to attend more events. It is a pilot program for this school year and will be reevaluated at the end of the next school year.

The passes will be good for all home high school and junior high sporting events, including football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and track.

The all-season passes will go on sale on July 31. They will be available for purchase at the preseason parent meeting on that date.

More information regarding athletic tickets and passes will be announced later this summer.

Kindergarten and younger are admitted free at all home Versailles sporting events.
