Commission approves vehicle

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will get a new vehicle and Fair Haven will purchase a generator following action by the Shelby County Commissioners during recent meetings.

The commissioners approved the vehicle purchase at a cost of $45,005.40. The generator will cost $56,274.

In other business, the commissioners:

• Approved a payment of $137,992.15 to Base Construction Technologies for the 2015 Wells Road reclamation project.

• Proclaimed Sept. 18 as Shelby County Veterans Day. The proclamation was read at the send-off for the Vets to DC trip on that day.

• Approved a county recorder’s request to set the fee per recorded document at $7 for 2016.

• Accepted a proposal from Slagle Mechanical to replace two water coolers at the courthouse at a cost of $1,846.

• Accepted a proposal from Midwest Maintenance to repair the west gable pediment of courthouse at a cost of $29,810.

• Passed resolutions declaring opposition to State Issue 3 and support for State Issues 1 and 2 on the November ballot.

• Certified to the county auditor the annual assessment for the Aquifier Preservation Subdistrict of the Miami Conservancy District for tax year 2015 to be collected in 2016.

• Entered into lease agreement with Sidney City Schools for use of property adjacent to fairgrounds.

• Approved release of $1,444.32 of permissive license fees to the village of Kettlersville for street repair.

• Re-appointed Kelly Albers to the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities for the term effective Jan. 1.
