Jamesons mark golden date

SIDNEY — Judy and Bob Jameson, of Sidney, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a family party, hosted by their children, at a lodge in Hocking Hills.

Bob and the former Judith Ann Purkey were married Oct. 23, 1965, during a 6 p.m. candlelight service in the Grace United Methodist Church in Hamilton. The Rev. Donald Purkey, brother of the bride, performed the service on a cool, sunny day. Witnesses were best man James Warehime, maid of honor June Simpson, ushers James Jameson, brother of the bridegroom, and Douglas Purkey, brother of the bride, ring bearer Mark Lewis, bridesmaids Victoria Robertson and Alene Iutzwig, and flower girl Lisa Hoffer. The couple had met through a mutual friend.

Bob is the son of the late Helen and Delbert Jameson. He has a brother, James Jameson, of Hamilton, and a sister, Elizabeth Jameson, of Sidney.

Judy is the daughter of the late Martha and Elmer Purkey. Her brothers, Donald R. Purkey and Douglas Purkey, are deceased.

The Jamesons have a son, Rob Jameson, of Sidney, and two daughters, Laura J. Jameson, of Dublin, and Amy McGill, of Sidney. They have five grandchildren.

Bob retired from banking in 1997 and Judith retired from banking in 2005.

They attend the Pasco United Methodist Church and enjoy fishing, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchilden.
