SIDNEY — Dianna Lake, who works in medical records and admissions, and R. Michael Johnson, director of social services, admissions and maarketing, at The Pavilion Rehab and Skilled Care Center in Sidney, were recently awarded certification as advisers by the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).
They are now certified to counsel elder Shelby County residents on their choices of Medicare plans before they initially apply for Medicare, as well as educate seniors about their options for Medicare Part D prescription plans. The certification also allows Lake and Johnson to enroll seniors in Part D plans and assist seniors should they choose to switch back to traditional Medicare from a managed care plan. The OSHIIP adviser role is voluntary and requires more than 24 hours of training and testing.
The Pavilion is a 50-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing center, located along Fulton Street.
