The morning passenger train on the Big Four Railroad will stop at Houston Thursday for the convenience of parties desiring to go to the Loramie and Cynthian township fox drive. Round trip tickets will be sold for 40 cents.

The Prohibitionists of Shelby county will hold their county convention on March 3 in the assembly room of the court house.

The Republicans of the different wards held meetings at the regular voting places last night and selected delegates to the County Republican convention which meets in the assembly room of the court house tomorrow afternoon. John F. Wilson was selected central committeeman from the first ward and Robert L. Cartwright from the second ward. No committeemen were named in the third and fourth ward.

Leo Kelley is quite ill at his home on Crescent drive with the hiccoughs. He has been hiccoughing constantly for seven days.

A new record for cross-country mail service has been established. Eight bags of mail dispatched from San Francisco by airplane Tuesday morning arrived in New York City 33 hours and 20 minutes later.

The big attraction in Sidney this week is the automobile and automobile accessory show being held at the armory. Opening this evening it will continue through Saturday. Free to the public, this will be the most complete show that has ever been presented by the local dealers, all of whom are represented.

The results of the victory clothing collection in Sidney Sunday were rather disappointing to the committee and workers in charge of the activity. Approximately 8,000 pounds of used clothing were collected according to figures announced today by A.C. Earl, chairman of the Shelby county committee. This is drastically less than was collected in the drive last year.

Almost 90 per cent of the 209 agricultural landowners in Shelby County favor taking steps to complete the establishment here of a soil conservation district. Following a tabulation of the vote from eight locations in the county, R.W. Munger, county agent, said this morning that 187 voted in favor of the proposal, with 22 against.

FORT LORAMIE – Attorney David Shuffelton of the Sidney law firm of Boller & Boller will open an office for the general practice of law at 19 South Main street here on March 1.
Shuffelton, who will reside at the Fort Loramie address, will continue his Sidney practice.

Parkwood Parent Teachers Organization held its February meeting Thursday in the school.
A spelling bee, sponsored by the Dayton Daily News, was the program for the evening. Winning the event was a third-grade student, Sarah Watkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watkins.
Sarah will compete in the Shelby-Auglaize county spelling bee to be held April 13 at the Northwood Middle School.

“In less than five years, you will be able to do on the Internet every service imaginable at Bank One,” John B. McCoy told about 150 people attending a lecture at Marietta College.
