JACKSON CENTER – Perhaps no one would be more familiar with the work done by faculty and staff at Jackson Center Schools than Jerry Harmon.

He’s been a teacher, athletics coach and principal. He drove a school bus, and taught driver’s education. He did custodial duties several years ago when the school was without a custodian for three months. He’s even occasionally helped he cooks in the school kitchen.

Harmon now brings his education and that wide range of work experience to the position of school superintendent. He became the district’s top administrator at the start of 1997, upon the retirement of Donald Knight.

“I’m happy and proud that the school board put their trust in me,” Harmon said in an interview this week. “I’ll always be grateful.”
