SIDNEY — The Shelby County Common Pleas Court handed down three sentences during the week of April 11 for drug trafficking, possession and use, and receiving stolen property.

Jeffrey E. Lukey, 60, of Sidney, was sentenced to five years of community control, three days in the Shelby County Jail or a 72-hour intervention program, the required completion of drug and alcohol counseling and the Thinking for a Change program. He was also fined $350 and his driver’s license was suspended for one year. This was due to charges of attempted aggravated possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor, possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor. Lukey was initially indicted on five charges, but two charges were dismissed. Lukey possessed methamphetamine and Alprazolam (Xanax) and was under the influence of methamphetamine and amphetamine while operating a motor vehicle.

Raul Vega Jr., 21, at large, was initially indicted on two charges of receiving stolen property, a fourth and fifth-degree felony, but the case was dismissed without sentencing. Vega Jr. was reportedly in possession of a Glock 21 firearm and received and retained an Ohio license plate, both of which he knew or had reasonable cause to believe had been stolen.

Krista J. Elliott, 31, who is in the Shelby County Jail, was sentenced to 120 days in the Shelby County Jail with zero days of jail credit for attempted trafficking in drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was initially indicted on trafficking in drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Elliott knowingly sold or offered to sell Fentanyl.
