Community-funded project underway

CELINA — The Cornerstone Chapel is underway as Tri-Star Career Compact and St. John’sBuilders continue to make strides on the new facility. Cornerstone Chapel is being constructedat the Mercer County Fairgrounds and will be used year-round with various events.

The mission of the Cornerstone Chapel is to strengthen the spiritual foundation of MercerCounty residents and visitors by providing a venue that enhances collaboration and partnershipamong all local churches and the community. The structure will consist of a shelter house areaon one half and a chapel area on the other. These two will be utilized for various events such asweddings, worship groups, and family gatherings.

“This project is fully community-funded, and we are relying on businesses and families tocontribute towards this project. We are still fundraising for the facility that will eventually serveas a worship area and shelter house for our community. I am ecstatic and grateful to be part ofthe planning stages and look forward to seeing people utilizing the new facility to its fullestpotential,” Cara Muhlenkamp, Mercer County Fair manager said.
