Christmas dinner tradition continues

FORT LORAMIE — The Wilderness Trail Museum in Fort Loramie will once again become a festive showcase of Christmas decor as the Fort Loramie Historical Association hosts its annual Colonial Christmas Dinners. This marks the 49th year that the Association has served these dinners as a fundraiser for the organization.

For the occasion, volunteers decorate every room in the museum with Christmas trees, garland, wreaths, candles, nativities, and a multitude of lights. Dinner guests are welcomed by a doorman, and then seated and served by Association members and students dressed in colonial costumes. The evening begins with hot mulled cider, eggnog, punch, and appetizers, followed by traditional colonial dinner fare, dessert and coffee.

Attending this event has become a tradition for many families and friends who come each year to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season. This year’s dinners will be held the evenings of Nov. 30 through Dec. 3. Tickets are still available, and reservations can be made by calling Jean Rosengarten at 937-295-3998.
