Crashes

No one was cited after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 21 at 5:31 a.m.

Nigeria S. Kennedy, 36, of Lima, was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 in the left lane when an unknown semi-truck drove into her lane and struck her, then continued northbound. Kennedy’s vehicle was towed by Mayse’s Towing.

• Westly Jacob McVety, 29, of Minster, was cited with operation without reasonable control after the State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on Jan. 20 at 9:04 p.m.

McVety was traveling northbound on Schmitmeyer Baker Road when he lost control, driving off the left side of the roadway and into a tree. Road conditions were icy at the time of the crash. McVety had possible injuries but was not evaluated by an EMS agency or taken to a medical facility.

• Dylan Dane Westfall, 18, of Piqua, was cited with operation without reasonable control after the State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on Jan. 19 at 5:37 p.m.

Westfall was traveling northbound on Miami River Road when he lost control, drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. It was snowing at the time of the crash. The vehicle was towed by Bushnell’s Towing.

• Travis M. Kasperski, 31, of Sidney, was cited with right of way at a stop sign after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 18 at 3:32 p.m.

Kasperski was traveling northbound on Kuther Road approaching the intersection of Millcreek Road and Samuel K. Young, 40, of Fort Loramie, was traveling westbound on Millcreek Road approaching the intersection. Kasperski failed to yield from the stop sign and was struck by Young in the intersection. Kasperski and Young’s vehicles were towed by Elmer’s Towing. Young had possible injuries but was not evaluated by an EMS agency or taken to a medical facility.

• Joyce Ann Day, 53, of Maplewood, was cited with improper passing to the left after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 17 at 5:46 p.m.

Day and Jeffrey A. Grieves, 67, of Sidney, were traveling eastbound on Dingman Slagle Road. Grieves attempted to turn left into a field and Day attempted to pass him on the left, causing a collision. Grieves’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing.

• Frederick Lavalle Brisco, 35, of Lima, was cited with assured clear distance after deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash on Jan. 17 at 5:40 a.m.

Brisco was traveling westbound on Meranda Road when he rear-ended Audrey Elaine Durham, 25, of Harrod, who then struck Sean C. Brisson, 36, of Bellefontaine. Brisco’s vehicle was towed by Mayse’s Towing.

• Courtney Marie Inman, 29, of Anna, was cited with assured clear distance after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 16 at 4:42 p.m.

Hannah Marie Helmlinger, 20, of St. Marys, was stopped on state Route 29 attempting to turn left when she was rear-ended by Inman. Inman’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing and Helmlinger’s vehicle was towed by Mayse’s Towing. Inman had suspected minor injuries but was not evaluated by an EMS agency or taken to a medical facility.

• Eric Alan Jimison, 55, of Shelby, was cited with turn and stop signals after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 16 at 2:04 p.m.

Jimison was driving a semi-truck traveling southbound on Interstate 75 in the right lane and Timothy Lee Strack, 62, of West Chester, was in the left lane. Jimison changed lanes and struck Strack.

• Carrie Rebecca Higgins, 49, of Anna, was cited with right of way from a private driveway after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 16 at 8:03 a.m.

Higgins was backing out of a driveway on East Main Street in Anna when she backed into the path of Christina Jo Hawk, 34, of Sidney, who was traveling westbound on East Main Street, causing a collision.

• William Anthony Grissom, 55, of Piqua, was cited with failure to control after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Jan. 15 at 8:46 p.m.

Grissom was traveling northbound on Patterson Halpin Road when he failed to negotiate a right curve. He continued straight, running off the left side of the road into a tree. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing, and Grissom had suspected minor injuries but was not evaluated by an EMS agency or taken to a medical facility.

• Celeste Whitley Beam, 18, of Anna, was cited with failure to yield from a stop sign after deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash on Jan. 12 at 3:38 p.m.

Beam was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of County Road 25A and Wells Road facing east. Jeffrey L. Moore, 61, of Anna, was traveling northbound on County Road 25A. Bradley Michael Pleiman, 51, of Sidney, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection facing west. Beam pulled into the intersection and struck Moore, and Moore struck Pleiman. Moore’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing and Moore was taken by Anna EMS to Wilson Health with suspected minor injuries.

• Steven Alan Buettner, 71, of Delphos, was cited with turn and stop signals after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 12 at 1:10 p.m.

Buettner, driving a semi-truck, and Amanda Mae Gomez, 39, of Napoleon, were traveling southbound on Interstate 75 when Buettner struck Gomez with his trailer and continued southbound. Gomez’s vehicle was towed by Elmer’s Towing.
