Technicians battle in challenge at Kirk NationalLease

According to Vice President of Operations, Brandon Bishop, they plan on expanding the challenge next year to include vocational school and high school students. There were three categories in the challenge the Trailer Tech Challenge, Truck Tech Challenge and Future Tech Challenge. First place winners in the truck and trailer challenges will be competing at the Super Tech Challenge in Raleigh, N.C.. Bishop said the challenge is a “way to show our appreciation for all the technicians that keep the transportation industry moving.”

The challenge was held on Wednesday at the Kirk NationalLease’s Sidney headquarters.

Last year there were six stations and three finalists. The finalists come from among Kirk NationalLease’s 22 satelite shops that are found in 11 states, including Ohio.

According to Vice President of Operations, Brandon Bishop, they plan on expanding the challenge more next year to include vocational school and high school students. This is only the second year of the competition.

Technicians had to pass a prerequisite test to qulify for the challenge. There were three categories in the challenge the Trailer Tech Challenge, Truck Tech Challenge and Future Tech Challenge.

First place winners in the truck and trailer challenges will be competing at the Super Tech Challenge in Raleigh, N.C..

Bishop said the challenge is a “way to show our appreciation for all the technicians that keep the transportation industry moving.”
