ANNA — The Anna Rockets (8-2, 4-1) took down the Botkins Trojans (5-4, 1-3) in straight sets on Tuesday at Anna High School.

The Rockets took the first set 25-16, the second 25-11 and the third 25-16 again.

Stat leaders for the Trojans were Peyton Platfoot with 17 digs and Maddilyn Frey with eight kills.

“Anna was the more powerful team tonight,” Botkins head coach Sara Brown said. “We struggled to use our out of system balls. Third set we were able to get our hands on some blocks. We had too many unforced hitting errors.”

“We’ve adopted this ‘all-in’ concept,” Anna head coach Kelli Zumberger said. “It doesn’t matter who’s out there on the court, no matter what position I put them in, they get after it. If you come to our practices, they’re locked in and ready for anything. They definitely brought that tonight.”

Anna lost 3-0 to Fort Loramie on Thursday. The squad is scheduled to host Marion Local on Monday.
