SIDNEY —- The Lehman Catholic girls tennis team fell to Kenton Ridge 4-1 on Wednesday.

“We played a good match against a smart team,” Cavaliers coach Tim Ungericht said. “We are getting better every day.”

Lehman (1-6), coming off of its first win of the season last week, was looking to keep the ball moving, but fell short.

“Our record is deceiving,” Ungericht said. “We’ve played three top 10 ranked teams in the Miami Valley area. We’re better than 1-6 and we’re improving with every match.”

Eliza Westerheide and Kyla McGinnis were the lone winners for the Cavaliers as they took a victory 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 at first doubles.

Charlotte Spaide lost 7-5, 6-3 at first singles, Brooklyn Fortkamp lost 6-1, 6-0 at second singles.

Ashreal Alvarez and Kali Pleasant lost 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 in second doubles. Lehman forfeited third singles as they were down a member.

The Cavaliers are back in action Thursday at home where they take on Springboro B at 4:30 p.m.
