MINSTER — The Russia Raiders remain unbeaten in Shelby County Athletic League play on Thursday with a 165-170 victory over Fort Loramie at Arrowhead Golf Course.

“We’re where you want to be at this point in the season,” Raiders coach Paul Bremigan said. “There are still good golf teams behind us, anything can happen.”

With the SCAL tournament coming up this Thursday, Sept. 12, Russia (6-0) was looking to keep their winning streak alive and stay atop the league.

The Raiders were led by scorers Michael Voisard (38), Vince Borchers (41), Leo Counts (42) and Braylon Cordonier (44).

“We knew coming in here that we had to play Thursday no matter what,” Bremigan said. “It was good to see us shoot a 165. We had some struggles but any time you can come out here and play at Arrowhead and come away with a win against Fort Loramie, you’ll take it.”

Fort Loramie was led by Beau Shafer (41), Jack Cotner (41), Wade Holthaus (42) and Chase Bornhorst (46).

Fort Loramie has one final tune up before the SCAL tournament as it battles Ansonia on Monday at Arrowhead.

Russia is back on the links this Thursday when they compete in the SCAL tournament at Shelby Oaks Golf Club.
