SIDNEY — The Russia Raiders boys golf team completed a perfect season in the Shelby County Athletic League, capturing the SCAL championship with a score of 332 at the Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney on Thursday.

“I thought we were very consistent today,” Raiders head coach Paul Bremigan said. “I think everyone could say that there were some strokes out there. With four teams within eight shots of each other, it could have gone any way.”

The Botkins Trojans narrowly missed out on first place, finishing second with their score of 333.

“Not a great day today,” Tigers head coach Trent Platfoot said. “I think we definitely could have played better, but they played in tough conditions today.

“The ground was hard and there was a little bit of wind. We’re going to keep working and hopefully we can post a 330 kind of score at sectionals Tuesday.”

Top scorers for Jackson Center were Reed Platfoot (83), Blake Noble (87), Anderson Fark (90) and Tristan Woolley (93).

In sixth place were the Houston Wildcats with their total score of 358. Their leading scores in the event were Tanner Voisard (75), Reagan Steiner (91), Bryce Lukey (94) and Seth Merricle (98).
