Cross country: Area teams compete at Troy Twilight Invitational

TROY — Sidney, Fairlawn, Botkins, Fort Loramie, Lehman Catholic, Houston and Russia all competed in the Troy Twilight XC Invitational at Troy Memorial Stadium in Troy on Saturday.

There were six individual high school races that took place in the event being broken down into white, gray and scarlet divisions.

In the women’s white division, Fort Loramie finished third overall with a score of 116.

Its top placers were Eliza Fullenkamp (23:32.0, 14th overall), Vivian Gerlach (23:44.0, 16th), Ava Schmiesing (24:50.4, 32nd) and Marissa Snider (25:09.4, 35th).

In the men’s white division, Sidney placed ninth with its score of 389.

Fastest runners for the Yellow Jackets were Sam Fink (20:24 28th overall), Dakota Porter (20:50.6, 42nd), Anderson Blackford (22:02.4, 103rd) and Ashton Krabill (23:12.9, 148th).

Fort Loramie had runners in the race, but not enough for a team score. Its top times were Adam Wolfe (22:58.7, 139th overall) and Will Rethman (24:18.5, 198th).

In the women’s gray division, Lehman Catholic took home 10th place as a team with a 307 team score while Sidney placed 18th with a 539 team score.

Top runners for the Cavaliers were Margaret Schmiesing (22:44.5, 18th overall), Anna Minneci (23:01.4, 27th), Julia Gudorf (23:54.9, 56th) and Ava Reineke (25:04.7, 129th).

Fastest times for the Yellow Jackets were Hailey Dietz (22:06.3, 5th overall), Kara Kellner (23:55.5, 57th), Emma Schmiesing (26:26.5, 238th) and Mikalya Huckleby (30:36.2, 346th).

Houston and Fairlawn also competed in the gray division race, but did not have enough runners for a team score. Houston’s best times were Makayla Pleiman (24:26.4, 83rd overall) and Gabriella Harding (28:09.6, 303rd).

Fairlawn’s fastest times were Nevaeh Burt (22:45.1, 19th overall) and Alli Orsborne (28:40.1, 317th).

In the men’s gray division race, Houston placed 11th with a team score of 315 and Russia placed 16th with its score of 459.

Top times for the Wildcats were Dakari Crawford (18:26.5, 14th overall), Dylan Shaffer (18:52.2, 32nd), Weston Hoover (19:02.4, 41st) and Hudson Mowery (20:02.5, 145th).

Russia’s fastest runners were Sheldon Pohlman (18:53.3, 35th overall), Owen Sargent (19:11.3, 57th), Abe Hoehne (19:25.4, 83rd) and Anthony Caldwell (20:43.6, 203rd).

Fairlawn had runners in the race, but were unable to have a team score.

Its top times were C.J. Lessing (17:37.4, 3rd overall) and Lucas Longmire (20:32.7, 178th).

In the women’s scarlet race Fort Loramie finished in ninth place with its team score of 280, Botkins finished 15th with 465 and Russia placed 32nd with 873.

Fort Loramie’s best times were Ariel Heitkamp (19:42.5, 19th overall), Lauren Moore (19:49.6, 22nd), Harley Eilerman (20:36, 55th) and Marie Ballas (21:21.4, 115th).

Botkins’ fastest were Brylie Greve (20:26.5, 47th overall), Grace Gutman (20:56.9, 77th), Ameilia Greve (21:02.9, 81st) and Addison Blindauer (21:31.9, 124th).

Russia’s top scores were Faith York (21:53.2, 148th overall), Madison Schulte (23:06.5, 247th), Annabelle Armstrong (23:56.1, 290th) and Grace Caldwell (24:15.5, 303rd).

Houston’s Ava Mowery competed in the race as the lone Wildcat participant and placed 103rd with a 21:14.8.

In the men’s scarlet race, Botkins finished in 10th place with a 356 team score, Russia got 18th with a 513, Fort Loramie placed 34th at 838 and Lehman placed 35th with 879.

Botkins’ best times were Carson Brown (16:13.4, 20th overall), Collin Doseck (17:00.5, 66th), Lucas Arnold (17:17.2, 89th) and Carson Heuker (17:26.9 101st).

Russia’s fastest runners were Jacob Schmitmeyer (16:30.3, 30th overall), Samuel Philpot (16:34.2, 36th), Eli Schmitmeyer (18:04.4, 171st) and Evan Smith (18:06.5, 178th).

Fort Loramie’s best times were Dj Barhorst (17:41.5, 124th overall), Ethan Koester (18:23.9, 213th), Sean Bornhorst (18:32.1, 238th) and Isaac Holthaus (18:36.9, 245th).

Lehman’s fastest times were Brian Baumann (17:34.5, 110th overall), Luke Dexter (18:38.8, 251st), Ethan Taylor (18:46.2, 267th) and Alex Goubeaux (18:55.1, 287th).

Sidney’s Simon Blackford also competed in the race, finishing 136th with a 17:46.7.
