Alain Tourikian to speak at YMCA luncheon

Universal 1 Credit Union in partnership with the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA have announced they are going to present the annual Economic Outlook Luncheon. The luncheon is scheduled for at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA on 300 E. Parkwood Street in Sidney.

A complimentary lunch will be provided. RSVPs are required by Oct. 16 and registration is limited to the first 350. Please note that due to the construction on the new infant/toddler expansion, parking will be unavailable in the Y’s East Lot. Overflow parking will be available at Cornerstone Church located at 2220 N. Main Street, Sidney, and, weather permitting, will also be available in the Y’s East Field.

This year’s guest speaker will be Alain Tourikian, Director at ALM First Financial Advisors, LLC. Mr. Tourikian has an extensive background in commercial banking, with particular expertise in Finance and Treasury.

With a knowledge of portfolio management, fixed income markets, derivative products, and risk management processes, Tourikian has been instrumental in shaping the financial landscape within the institutions he has served. He is widely recognized for designing and pioneering a number of on- and off-balance sheet strategies that protect and enhance net interest margins, establishing him as a leader and innovator in the financial institution space.

Among his many contributions, Tourikian has developed numerous financial models, including Risk Adjusted Return on Capital, Capital Planning model, Balance Sheet Optimization/Sensitivity models, and regulatory-compliant models such as BASEL III. These models have been critical in helping corporations and business lines achieve their maximum profitability objectives.

In addition to his strategic and analytical expertise, Tourikian has been responsible for the Funds Transfer Pricing process, ensuring that the Treasury Funding Desk plays a crucial role in disseminating market information for the pricing and crediting of funds to respective business units. His leadership in this area has facilitated a more informed and efficient financial decision-making process across the organizations he has served.

Furthermore, Tourikian has provided the framework for Asset Liability Committees and various subcommittees, including the development of report formats, agendas, and the completion of key initiatives and directives. His authored corporate policies and procedures related to investments, liquidity and funding, interest rate risk management, and derivative instruments have become cornerstones of financial management within his organizations.
