Sentences handed down for aggravated assault, other charges

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Common Pleas Court recently handed down several sentences for attempted aggravated assault, attempted failure to comply, and drugs, among other charges.

Kristin L. Cathcart-Daniels, aka Kristin L. Harriger, 38, of Sidney, was sentenced to five years community control, with 42 days of jail credit, on one count attempted aggravated assault, a fifth degree felony. Additionally Cathcart-Daniels must successfully complete treatment at a community based correctional facility, must successfully complete drug, alcohol and mental health counseling, and must successfully complete anger and rage counseling. Cathcart-Daniels was indicted on one count felonious assault, a second degree felony, for attempting to cause physical harm to the victim by swinging and stabbing a knife at the victim, a second degree felony.

Clark A. Nelson Greer, 34, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was sentenced to five years community control, with 115 days of jail credit granted, on one count attempted failure to comply with signal of officer, a fourth degree felony. Additionally, Greer must successfully complete treatment at a community based correctional facility, after completion of the CBCF must reside at a recovery home, must successfully complete drug, alcohol and mental health counseling, must successfully complete Thinking for a Change/Decision Points, and his driver’s license is suspended for a mandatory period of three years. Greer was indicted on one count failure to comply with order or signal of officer, a third degree felony, for fleeing from a law enforcement officer’s signal to stop his vehicle, operating his vehicle in a manner which caused a substantial risk of serious physical harm by traveling at speeds in excess of 110 mph, running a red light, crossing over the centerline and weaving through traffic, and passing vehicles on the right-hand side emergency lane.

Keturah Evans, 47, of Piqua, was sentenced to community control to not exceed five years, with no days of jail credit granted, on one count attempted illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a first degree misdemeanor. Additionally, Evans must pay restitution of $404.37. Evans was indicted on one count illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a fifth degree felony, for fraudulently accepting and using SNAP benefits when she was not authorized or qualified to receive or use said benefits.

Amber Evans, 25, of Piqua, was sentenced to community control not to exceed five years, with no days of jail credit granted, on one count attempted illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a first degree misdemeanor. Additionally, Evans must obtain and maintain employment and must pay restitution of $418.03. Evans was indicted on one count illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a fifth degree felony, for fraudulently accepting and using SNAP benefits when she was not authorized or qualified to receive or use said benefits.

Michelle L. Evans, aka Michelle L. Proffitt, 43, of Jackson Center, was sentenced to five years community control, with no days of jail credit granted, on one count attempted illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a fifth degree felony. Additionally, Evans must serve 15 days in the Shelby County Jail, must obtain and maintain employment, and must pay restitution to Shelby County Job and Family Services in the amount of $1,905.95. Evans was indicted on one count illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a fourth degree felony, for transferring food assistance benefits to others not authorized to use these benefits.

Steven P. Slusser, 68, of Sidney, was sentenced to serve six to nine years in prison, with two days of jail credit granted, on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a second degree felony. Additionally, Slusser will have 18 months to three years post-release control. Slusser was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a second degree felony, one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine, cocaine and baggies. Two charges were dismissed.

Neil S. Littleton, 36, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to 30 months in prison, with 143 days of jail credit granted, after violating terms and conditions of his community control sanction. Littleton was convicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a third degree felony, for methamphetamine.

Pacheco Melendez, 41, of Lima, was sentenced to 11 months in prison, with no days of jail credit granted, on one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. Melendez was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for cocaine, baggies and a container. One count was dismissed.

Keianna A. Williams, 30, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was sentenced to 17 months in prison, with 146 days of jail credit granted, after violating terms and conditions of her community control sanction. Williams was convicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fourth degree felony, for methamphetamine.

Adrienna M. Cook, 26, of Sidney, was sentenced to five years community control, with 18 days of jail credit granted, on one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony. Additionally, Cook must successfully complete treatment at a community based correctional facility. Cook was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for cocaine, rolled up cash and a plastic WIC card used for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing Cocaine.
