Maplewood Methodist Church held its third annual car show on Sept. 14.

There were slightly over 44 cars there, ranging from Model Ts to a 2010 Ford F150 Raptor. One of the most unique cars was a 1952 Studebaker Champion Police Squad Car.

Car owners who attended the show were treated with a silent auction and door prizes. A DJ was presented playing the best music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Food, drinks, and baked goods were being sold to raise money for the Church’s Trustee Fund. The fund is used by the church to pay for improvements to the building, among other things.

At the end of the event, wooden plaques handmade by a church member were handed out to those best in the show based on participant voting. In third place was a ‘66 Plymouth Belvadiere, second place was a ‘56 Ford Victoria, and first place was a ‘30 Chrysler Model 70 Royal Coupe.

In the truck category, the ‘79 Brunco Ranger XLT won second place and the ‘47 Dodge Pickup was first.
