MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 1924

There will be a mass meeting at the assembly room of the Court house on Friday evening This meeting will be addressed by Mrs. W.H.C. Goode to the women of Sidney on some of the important issues of the day.

75 YEARS

MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 1949

A major outbreak of polio has forced cancellation of the Darke County Fair this year.

50 YEARS

MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 1974

Sidney City Council last night granted approval to an ordinance which appropriates $21,000 toward the purchase of the Sidney Airport. In a pre-council session Councilman Merrill Asher said sentiments had been expressed to him that if city had money for airport purchase, why not for the Vandemark Road improvements.

25 YEARS

MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 1999

The board discussed the possibility of a skateboard park. Primarily members were concerned as to whether the park would have half-pipes or if it would just be a place for in-line hockey and other sports. Questions were raised as to whether there is enough interest in half-pipes and other such equipment.
