Lindsey was nominated for the award by Director of Shelby County Victim Services Tiffany Kemp, far left,. Kemp nominated Lindsey in part because Lindsey established New Choices, Inc., in 1978. A local agency that provides shelter and services to victims of domestic violence. In 1999 she established Shelby County Victim Services, an agency that that advocates for all crime victims. She also established Shelby County CASA. CASA volunteers advocate on behalf of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
