FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie lost 28-21 to the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds on Friday at Redskin Stadium.

Loramie (2-3, 1-1) fell behind early, giving up 14 points in the first quarter, both to rushing touchdowns.

Fort Loramie got on the board in the second quarter with a 20-yard reception from Gabe Hart to Maxwell Maurer to make it a 14-7 game with 10:04 left in the half.

Loramie looked to score again before a fumble recovered by the Thunderbirds led to a 19-yard touchdown pass, making the game 21-7.

The Fort Loramie turnovers didn’t stop there as Gabe Hart threw an interception with six minutes to play, but LCC was unable to score before the end of the half.

Hart wasted little time getting back on the board in the second half as he tossed a 25-yard pass to Thomas Hoying to cut the LCC lead to 21-14 halfway through the third.

With LCC nearing the red zone, Maurer nabbed an interception with two minutes left in the quarter.

Loramie was unable to push the ball up the field, giving LCC the ball in Fort Loramie territory.

LCC capitalized, scoring on an eight-yard touchdown pass that extended its lead to 28-14.

Loramie fought back in the fourth with another Maurer touchdown reception with 4:07 left in the game that brought it within seven.

Fort Loramie refused to quit, ending the game when Maurer was taken down on the 1-yard line as time expired.

Loramie moves on to battle NWC rival Spencerville at home this Friday.
