Ella Boerger, a recent graduate of Fort Loramie High School, received the 2024 Roger Grein Legacy Scholarship awarded by Magnified Giving.
This $2,500 Scholarship award is granted annually to a participant of Magnified Giving’s Youth Philanthropy Program who embodies the generous and philanthropic spirit of Magnified Giving’s Founder, Mr. Roger Grein, and who can articulate a strong plan for staying engaged in service and philanthropy in the next stages of their life.
The selection for the award is based on an application with written essays available to all participants in Magnified Giving’s program, meaning over 5,000 youth were eligible during the 2023-2024 school year.
Boerger participated in Magnified Giving’s Youth Philanthropy Program through her Leadership and Community Engagement Class at Fort Loramie High School, taught by Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, Tricia Alexander. Through the class, students partnered with local nonprofits to serve, raise money, and advocate for their mission.
Boerger and her group mates chose to support Elizabeth New Life Center, planning and hosting a “girls night,” which was attended by 121 girls and raised over $2,500 for Elizabeth New Life Center. She also successfully advocated for Elizabeth New Life Center to receive an additional $1,000 grant provided by Magnified Giving.
On Sept. 17, Boerger attended Magnified Giving’s Fall Dinner in Blue Ash to receive her scholarship and share remarks pertaining to the theme of the event, “Giving is Good.”
Her award was presented by Kelly Collison, CEO of Magnified Giving, and Boerger visited with Founder Roger Grein, the scholarship’s namesake.
Tricia Alexander, Boerger’s teacher and Magnified Giving facilitator, said, “Ella truly is a servant leader and a true example of the mission of Magnified Giving. She continues to serve her school, community, and beyond.”
Boerger is currently in her first semester studying at the University of Toledo.
