The owners of Emmy’s Bridal, Lori Rindler and Anne Puthoff, will be celebrating 45 years of success for the business this October. Strong ties to local communities and the ability to serve two and sometimes three generations of the same families from flower girls to golden Wedding attire. The staff and owners have seen many changes to styles and business practices over the last 45 years, but they say their commitment to their customers has never wavered.
Emmy’s Bridal was founded in 1979 in Fort Loramie by Emmy Bensman. She began with a downstairs bedroom in her home as her showroom and expanded and adapted the house until the shop took up the entire building and her family moved to a new home.
In 1995, Lori Rindler purchased her wedding dress from Bensman and mentioned she had an interest in owning a bridal shop. Fast forward to 1998 and Lori bought the business from Emmy after learning about the bridal business working there one day a week.
A few years later in 2001 Anne Puthoff went to work for Lori as a freelance seamstress with experience in working in Bridal in Minster, Toledo and for Emmy herself. After working together for a couple of years, the pair decided to become partners and expand the business.
Realizing the growing business needed a larger space the two found a location in the Eagle Plaza in Minster where the store remains today. Moving into a former Ben Franklin Variety store that had been empty for several years meant a full build out had to be undertaken to turn the empty space into a store worthy of selling brides their dream dresses.
The store itself has also changed physically over time to better accommodate the needs of our customers. The business has been remodeled several times and now has 19 dressing rooms.
