Grand jury issues multiple indictments, including rape

SIDNEY — The Shelby County grand jury issued indictments for rape, aggravated trafficking in drugs, failure to comply, and assault, among other charges, on Tues. Sept 24.

Michelle R. Schmerge, 34, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on seven counts of rape, a first degree felony, fourteen counts pandering obscenity involving a minor, a second degree felony, and three counts gross sexual imposition, a third degree felony, for engaging in sexual conduct with a male child victim less than two years of age, and knowingly creating and reproducing obscene material that has a male child victim less than two years of age as one of its participants.

Levi D. Eastridge, 22, of Saltville, Virginia, was indicted on one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a firth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine and control bags. The grand jurors further specify that Eastridge is a major drug dealer.

Damion J. Fryer, 29, of Adrian, Michigan, was indicted on one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine. Further, the grand jurors specify that Fryer is a major drug offender.

Holly E. Ramey, 25, of Kingsport, Tennessee, was indicted on one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine and bags. Further, the grand jurors specify that Ramey is a major drug offender.

Jesse J. Wright, 23, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one count failure to comply with order or signal of officer, a third degree felony and one count receiving stolen property, a fourth degree felony, for fleeing from a law enforcement officer’s signal to stop his vehicle, traveling at excessive speeds, running stop signs, crossing railroad tracks when safety arm is down and crashing into another vehicle, and possession of a 2020 Chevrolet Trax he knew or had reasonable cause to believe had been stolen.

Trevor W. Williamson, of Sidney, was indicted on one count domestic violence, a fourth degree felony, for punching an adult male family member in the face after a previous conviction.

John R. Hosmer, II, 61, of Port Jefferson, was indicted on one count assault, a fourth degree felony, for biting a Shelby County Sheriff’s officer on the arm while in performance of her official duties.

Patrick A. Platfoot, 32, of Botkins, was indicted on one count strangulation, a third degree felony, and one count domestic violence, a first degree misdemeanor, for choking an adult female family member with his forearm on her neck to the point the victim could not breathe.

Joseph D.L.G. McCulloch, 27, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one account felonious assault, a second degree felony, one count aggravated possession of drugs, a third degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for stabbing an adult male victim in the right forearm with a machete, methamphetamine, and a meth pipe and container.

Ashley Norberg, 36, of Piqua, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine and a baggie.

Jeremy D. Knasel, 45, of Piqua, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine and baggies.

Tess L. Haynes, 29, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, one count possession of drugs, a first degree misdemeanor, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for fentanyl, Xylazine, syringes and cotton filters.

Brittany A. McKee, at large, was indicted on two counts failure to appear, a fourth degree felony, for failing to report to the Court after being released on her own cognizance.
