It was senior night for the squad, and McCumber is one of eight seniors on the team who were recognized before the game. McCumber is holding a picture of her father, former Fort Loramie teacher and coach Jon McCumber, who died in early July. McCumber posed with her mother and stepfather Todd Gaier while holding her father’s picture during the ceremony. Players walked out of a different door than their parents during the ceremony and met their parents along the baseline before walking to center court; all presented their mothers with flowers when meeting them. Todd Gaier gave McCumber a picture of her father when the family met on the baseline. Fort Loramie secured an outright Shelby County Athletic League title with a 3-0 win on Thursday and is ranked No. 1 in the state coaches association Division VII poll.
