Murder Mystery dinner hosted by Sidney Alive

Sidney Alive will hold their Murder Mystery Dinner – The Murder at the End of the Universe on Oct. 26 at the Historic Sidney Theatre.

Sidney Alive says it is a fun, imaginative event where you choose to be a main character, a supporting character or just join in on dinner and watch the mystery unfold. Guests are encouraged to dress in theme.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and a cash bar will be available.

There’s a derelict space station near the edge of the galaxy. It was empty until Fishface Pesco from the Gillyx system opened “The Tavern at the End of the Universe” to serve as a stopover for the assorted nomads wandering in space. Some of them are strangely familiar to us Earthlings.

They include antiquated spaceship captains, lost hitchhikers, princesses with wacky haircuts, time-traveling physicians, absent-minded bounty hunters — humans, androids, furry creatures, amphibious types or any combination. They come here to rest, relax or maybe close a shady transaction in a private meeting room.

One night, a rowdy crowd gathers to hear the cantina band. The music stops suddenly when a body, spattered with what looks like blood, floats past the viewscreen. Fishface has been killed. He must have been ejected into space from the closest airlock, and no one had access except the people in this room. One of attendees is a murderer.

Teleport, fly a starship or hitch a ride to join for The Murder at the End of the Universe. Ticket sales are ending very soon for this annual fundraising event for Sidney Alive and can be purchased through the Sidney Alive website, sidneyalive.org/events or by visiting the event page on Sidney Alive’s Facebook page.

The Murder Mystery Dinner is made possible by all of Sidney Alive’s community sponsors and donors, including event sponsor Alvetro Orthodontics. If you have any questions about the event, please reach out to the organization at 937-658-6945.
