Ride-A-Thon planned for Oct. 15

CRIDERSVILLE — The Equestrian Therapy Program will hold its 23rd annual Ride-A-Thon on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 22532 Bowsher (Grubb) Road, Cridersville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The program is a nonprofit corporation organized for the purpose of providing equine facilitated activities and therapies for the disabled in Lima and the surrounding 11 counties. The Ride-A-Thon is the major fundraiser of the year for the program. Riders will be demonstrating their riding skills and participating in a pledge ride.

Activities planned for the day include a Chinese raffle, a silent auction and a benefit auction with all proceeds going to the Equestrian Therapy Program.

The auction will begin at 1 p.. with the Chinese raffle going on all day. Items to be auctioned include an Ohio State football signed by Urban Meyer, Ohio State vs. Michigan State tickets, decorative items, Taste of Lima basket with gift certificates to local restaurants and a meat package with a freezer and propane/charcoal grill.

The group will also be raffling off an I-pad and Amazon Echo.

There will also be a pumpkin festival with face painting, hayrides, a free pumpkin for everyone to decorate, games and music from the3rd Floor Band.
