Effort underway to help flood victims

WAPAKONETA — A Louisiana flood drive relief drive is underway in Wapakoneta.

Items for the residents of Central City, Louisiana, hit by flooding from Hurricane Matthew will be collected on Oct. 21-23 from 9 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Walmart Supercenter parking lot in Wapakoneta.

Items needed include bottled water, back packs, school supplies, cleaning supplies, mold remover, bleach, rubber gloves, mops, brooms, buckets, garbage bags, soaps (laundry, dish, hand), shampoo/conditioner, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine pads, bath soap, razors, shaving cream, toilet paper, diapers, baby wipes, dog and cat food.
