New ‘Threads’ available in Sidney

SIDNEY — A new clothing store has opened on the courthouse square in Sidney. The new shop, Threads by Logo Worx, is located at 126 E. Poplar. Threads offers apparel expressing pride in the state of Ohio or in local schools

Casey and Seth Dodds originally operated the business in their home. As a home-based business, the Dodds contracted with schools to produce their spirit wear. The business was operated in their home for five years.

“We’ve done spirit packs for a lot of schools in the area. We have gotten a lot of business from that, so we just decided to try doing a storefront,” said Casey.

Threads began as a screen printing and embroidery business and evolved to include Ohio wear and school spirit wear.

“We got a lot of business and thought we would make our products more available by offering them somewhere that would be easy for the people to get to. If they go to a school that we don’t do spirit wear for, they can come in here and order the apparel,” said Seth.

The Dodds’ daughter attends Whittier Elementary School, and word got around about their business. They were approached about creating spirit wear for them. Soon, other schools heard, and that part of their business took off.

“We’re known in the schools, and that just sort of helped the word spread. It’s been just great,” said Seth.

Ardent Ohio State Buckeyes fans, the Dodds have many different choices of Ohio apparel. They do produce clothing for fans of other teams and other sports.

“We want to branch out and offer Bengals and Browns apparel. We just started with Ohio, because that’s what most people in this area are. We are always willing to do special orders,” said Seth.

Having opened for the Winter Wonderland Parade, the Dodds have found that the business has started off even better than they expected.

“It’s been great having really nice people come in and compliment us. It’s just been nice to see something do this good,” said Casey.

Store hours are: Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
