20 indicted by grand jury

SIDNEY — A Shelby County grand jury handed up formal indictments on Thursday to the persons arrested last week after a narcotics search warrant was served at a Sidney home by the Sidney and Piqua Police Departments.

• Alicia Croft, 29, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony.

• David Copeland, 26, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of permitting drug abuse, and one count of possession of drugs, both felonies of the fifth-degree.

• Michael Anthony Lewis Jr., 35, at large, was indicted on one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, one count of tampering with evidence, both felonies of the third-degree, and one count of trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony.

• Trinton Woods, 28, of Dayton, was indicted on one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a felony of the third-degree, and one count of trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony.

Other people indicted by the grand jury include:

• James Blanks, 24, of Toledo, was indicted on one count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony.

• Kylee Close, 36, of Spencerville, Ohio, was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited item onto grounds of detention facility, a felony of the third-degree, one count of operating a vehicle under the influence, and one count of driving under suspension, both first-degree misdemeanors.

• Carl Crawford, 21, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Joshua Elliston, 40, at large, was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony.

• Brantley Longacrew, 20, was indicted on one count of safe cracking, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

• Michael Sloan, 22, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of robbery, a felony of the second-degree. He is accused of robbing the Fuel Stop gas station on West Court Street earlier this week.

• Paul Smith, 46, at large, was indicted on one count of grand theft auto, a fourth-degree felony, one count of forgery, and four counts of theft, all fifth-degree felonies.

• Brandon Swan, 31, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited item onto grounds of detention facility, a felony of the third-degree.

• Darrell Thomas, 24, of Toledo, was indicted on one count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony.

• Andrew Turner, 34, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony. He was scheduled to be sentenced for two counts of trafficking in drugs on Sept. 22. Turner was originally arrested on April 29 after the Sidney and Piqua Police Departments executed a narcotics search warrant at his residence.

• Michael Tucker, 39, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of illegal cultivation of marijuana, a fifth-degree felony.

• Kody Welton, 19, of Rittman, Ohio, was indicted on one count of passing bad checks, a fifth-degree felony.

• Dustin Wise, 40, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of burglary, a felony of the third-degree.

• Winchester Wiley, 31, at large, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Shyla K. Williamson, 25, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

• Alisha R. Berning (Young), 36, of Fort Loramie, was indicted on one count of forgery, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of falsification, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

A group arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m.
