ANNA — The Shelby County community is invited to St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 101 W. Main St., Anna, Ohio, on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. to experience “Journey to Bethlehem.”

“Journey to Bethlehem” is a display of Creches (Nativity scenes or displays of Jesus’ birth) which come from all parts of the United States and from around the world. Members of St. Jacob will be sharing their own Creches and in some cases the stories that make them special as well as “creche ornaments” and art work which show the birth of Jesus for the public to see.The display will be accompanied by music to help make it a meditative setting.

“The hope is that everyone will be reminded that Jesus is the real reason for the season while at the same time appreciating depictions of the birth of the Christ child that reflect a variety of cultures, artist conceptions, and circumstances,” said Pastor Michael Althauser, pastor of St. Jacob.

This display is free of charge and everyone is invited.

“We just want everyone to get into the mood for the Christmas season!” Althauser said.
