FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie notched a big non-league win in high school volleyball Thursday, defeating the state’s No. 2-ranked Division 2 team, Ottawa-Glandorf, 3-1.

The Lady Redskins, ranked No. 10 in Division 4, won 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23 to run their record to 12-5 with Fort Recovery coming to town today.

“This was a big win for us in many ways,” said Loramie coach John Rodgers. “We did a great job of not getting rattled when they had a big kill or went on a run. That’s a sign we’re making progress towards our goals.”

Caleigh Barhorst had 13 kills for Loramie, with Sara Stang adding six and Abby Holthaus five.

Sophia Albers handed out 26 assists, Stang led in digs with 19, and Barhorst added 17.

Marion Local 3, Minster 1

MINSTER — The Minster Lady Wildcats lost at home to backyard rival Marion Local Thursday, 3-1 in Midwest Athletic Conference play.

The scores were 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 25-18.

The loss left Minster at 1-5 in the conference and 11-7 overall. Marion Local remains unbeaten in league play at 5-0 and is 12-3 overall.

Paige Thobe led Marion with 10 kills and Jordyn Heitbrink added seven. Rosie Westerbeck finished with five.

Hayley Baumer had 29 assists and 17 digs.

Paige Purdy led the defense with 35 digs, Heitbrink had 28, and Westerbeck and Sara Ripploh 17 apiece.

Thobe also had eight total blocks and Carly Barhorst six for Minster.

Marion Local got 12 kills from Kylie Albers, 11 from Kara Evers, and eight each from Jessie Kramer and Chloe Bertke.

Maddie Griesdorn had 27 assists for the Lady Flyers, and five girls had double figures in digs, with Carrie Fesenmeyer leading with 30, Kramer having 21, Lexi Arling 13 and Griesdorn and Natalie Rethman 11 apiece.

Versailles 3, NK 1

NEW KNOXVILLE — New Knoxville lost at home to Versailles in MAC action Thursday, leaving the Lady Rangers 2-4 in the conference and 8-8 overall.

The scores were 25-17, 19-25, 26-24, 25-21.

For the Lady Rangers, Kenzie Schroer had 13 kills, 19 assists and 10 digs for a triple-double.

Shayna Bierlein had 11 kills and 24 digs, Ashlyn Miller six kills and 14 digs, Jenna Schwieterman 18 digs and four kills and Faith Homan 18 digs.

New Knoxville won the junior varsity game 2-0 on scores of 25-19, 25-20.

New Bremen 3, Coldwater 2

COLDWATER — New Bremen upped its record to 4-2 in the MAC and 13-3 overall with a thrilling 3-2 win over Coldwater.

The scores were 25-19, 2025, 11-25, 25-20, 15-13, and the Bremen win knocked Coldwater out of a tie for first place in the league.

Paige Jones led the Lady Cardinals with 33 kills, and that put her over 500 for the season. Rachel Kremer added 13 kills. Madison pape set them up with 43 kills.

Jones also had 18 digs and Pape eight. Blake Snider added seven.
