Lehman tuned up for its big game at Anna Thursday by blanking Miami East in non-league girls soccer action Tuesday, 3-0.

The win put the Lady Cavaliers at 10-1-1 on the year heading into the Anna game. Miami East is now 4-4-4.

Lehman’s goals came from Hannah Fogt, Liz Pax and Samantha Edwards, and the assists came from Amanda Titterington, Rylie McIver and Molly Safreed.

Goalie Camille Brown posted the shutout.

Lehman’s junior varsity team finished the season with a 10-1 record after a 5-0 blanking of Miami East.

Elizabeth Gibson had two goals and Hope Anthony and McIver one each. McIver added two assists, and Madison Hurley and Grace Dexter had one each.

Calvary Chr. 5, Fairlawn 1

Fairlawn lost to Calvary Christian in boys soccer Tuesday, 5-1.

Drew Brautigam had the goal for the Jets, assisted by Bryce Landry.

Fairlawn also lost Monday to Bethel, 6-0.

WL-Salem 2, Anna 0

WEST LIBERTY — The Anna Lady Rockets suffered their first loss of the season in girls soccer action Monday night, losing 2-0 to West Liberty-Salem on the road.

The verdict leaves the Lady Rockets at 11-1-2 heading into their biggest game game of the season, Thursday at home against the area’s top-ranked team, Lehman.

Anna is 6-0-0 in the Western Ohio Soccer League and Lehman is 4-0-0.

Against West Liberty, goalie Savanna Hostetler had four saves for the Lady Rockets.

Springboro 7, Sidney 0

SPRINGBORO — Sidney absorbed its worst loss of the season in girls soccer action Monday, falling on the road to the state’s No. 7-ranked Division 1 team, Springboro, 7-0.

The loss, Sidney’s second straight after a 1-0 loss Saturday at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, left the Lady Jackets at 7-4-2 overall heading into a home game Wednesday against Vandalia.

Jackson Center 3, Newton 1

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Tigers continued their improved play of late, beating visiting Newton in non-league boys soccer action, 3-1 Monday.

The Tigers are now 7-5-1 after standing at 1-4-1 at one point. They have won six of their last seven matches.

Gavin Booser scored two of the goals for the Tigers and added an assist, and Bryce Sosby had a goal and an assist.

Corbin Murphy played well in goal, finishing with four saves.

The Tigers are back in action Thursday at New Knoxville in Western Ohio Soccer League play.
