Tiger soccer team takessecond in WOSL race

SPENCERVILLE — Jackson Center ended the season on a good note, edging Spencerville 2-1 in Western Ohio Soccer League action Tuesday.

The win gave the Tigers a final 7-2-0 mark in the WOSL, and that was good enough for second place behind league champion Botkins. Overall, the Tigers are 9-5-1 and await the winner of the Brookville-Dixie match in sectional tournament play.

Jackson’s goals came from Gavin Booser and Bryce Sosby, and assists were by Clay Akers and Garrett Heitkamp.

Sidney fnishes 2nd

The Sidney High girls soccer team finished in second place in the Greater Western Ohio Conference American North standings after defeating Greenville 2-1 in action Tuesday.

The win gave Sidney a final mark of 8-1-1 in the North, putting them behind only Tipp City.

The win came on the heels of a 6-0 win over Lima Bath on Saturday, and put the Lady Jackets at 10-4-2 at the end of regular-season play. They are back in action Tuesday at home against Fairmont in tournament play.

Scoring goals for the Lady Jackets in the two wins were Emily Wiesenmayer, Elaine Wiesenmayer, Keaton Eilert and Baily Sherman.
