Drug bust: Sidney police arrest 4

SIDNEY — Four people — including two Sidney residents who live at the residence — were arrested Wednesday afternoon after a narcotics search warrant was served by the Sidney and Piqua Police Departments.

According to the Sidney Police Department, the warrant was executed at at 4:35 p.m. at 434 1/2 N. Miami Ave., Sidney. Due to the elevated risk to the safety of officers, the services of the Tactical Response Team were utilized. Once the residence was secured by tactical officers, investigators from Sidney Police Department conducted a search of the residence for evidence of drug abuse and drug trafficking.

Recovered during the search were a large quantity of heroin, meth, money, capsules, syringes, and other drug paraphernalia. As a result of the search warrant four people were arrested and incarcerated at the Shelby County Jail.

Arrested during the search were:

• David T. Copeland, age 26, 434 1/2 N. Miami Ave., Sidney. He has been charged with one felony count of drug possession and one felony count of permitting drug abuse. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail and will be arraigned Friday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m. in Sidney Municipal Court.

• Alisha R. Croft, age 29, 434 1/2 N. Miami Ave., Sidney. She has been charged with one felony count of drug possession and one felony count of permitting drug abuse. She is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail and will be arraigned Friday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m. in Sidney Municipal Court.

• Trenton W. Woods, age 28, 46 S. Alder St, Dayton, Ohio. He has been charged with one felony count of complicity. He has bonded out of jail.

• Michael A. Lewis Jr. age 35, address at large. He has been charged with one felony count of tampering with evidence and one felony count of drug trafficking. He has bonded out of jail.

This warrant execution is a continuing effort by the Sidney Police Department to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in Sidney. Information resulting in this warrant was derived in part from concerned citizens.
